Cost
Costs for Assisted Living vary widely depending on the style of unit chosen, whether private or shared, care needs, additional services chosen and amenities the particular facility has. Generally, the costs are between $3,500 and $6,000 per month in the region, but depending on what care is needed and what options are chosen the total may be higher or lower for each individual. Each community has a different pricing model and during the selection process we can walk through what this would mean initially and could mean long term.
Funding
Private resources are generally used to pay for assisted living. Some benefits / personal resources people use to fund it are:
- Veterans Affairs (for some Veterans or their Spouse)
- Long Term Care Insurance
- Proceeds from sale of house (bridge options exist until home is sold)
- Reverse Mortgage
- Life Care Funding Group (converts Life Insurance into a Long Term Care Benefit)
- Medicaid Waiver (if qualified may help offset care costs but not rent)
We can help walk you through a budget and a full list of potential resources available to see what the overall costs would be and how they compare to what they are paying today or will be when released from the nursing home or rehab with additional home care needed.
